Executive Director / Co-Founder

Kalin Yokota

From her love for fine art and community building, Kalin nurtures over eight years of experience in fostering cultural enrichment through artistic initiatives and event production. As the co-founder of Tokyo's leading art event, Tokyo Love Hotels, Kalin's is a driving force in shaping cultural landscapes. She graduated with a BA in Fine Arts Major from Tyler School of Art.

Hakuo Kato

Hakuo Kato, an eccentric entrepreneur, has made a notable impact in the design and architecture communities, enhancing their reputation and establishing himself as a prominent figure. He holds the position of director at the Japanese International Economic Development Organization (JIEDO) and is actively involved in various ventures spanning architecture, nonprofits, and philanthropy, including culture preservation through the Legendary Classic Club and sustainable energy initiatives with Green Heritage. Kato's diverse experiences in design, architecture, and interior decoration reflect his deep-rooted passion for creativity and innovation.

With her leadership, Asia Society Japan has evolved into a dynamic hub for cultural initiatives, exhibitions, and partnerships, bolstering ties across Asia and worldwide while enhancing Japan's cultural diversity.

Miwa is a former Japanese growth equity portfolio manager with Clay Finlay, and she previously worked in investment banking for Morgan Stanley. She has translated over 50 business/entrepreneurship publications, and is also an associate professor of Kyorin University. Miwa earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Keio University.

Jesper Koll

Jesper Koll, a distinguished economist and financial analyst, possesses extensive knowledge of the Japanese market. With notable roles at Merrill Lynch Japan and J.P. Morgan Japan, he has emerged as a highly sought-after commentator in the media, offering expert analysis and forecasts on platforms such as Bloomberg and CNBC.
As a highly influential figure in Japan's business realm, Jesper Koll holds key positions including membership on the advisory board for the governor of Tokyo and a seat on the board of directors at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University.

Intersecting his passion for fine art, community building and brand marketing, Josiah brings 10-years experience between field marketing with Red Bull, start-ups, and entrepreneurial endeavor, Valence Projects, to create platforms for underrepresented creatives.

Schyler Cole

Schyler Cole is a venture capitalist, ecosystem builder, and policy specialist currently based in Tokyo. Her undergraduate research led her to founding and securing funding for a US health and food-focused company. She has experience in startups, VC, and think tanks in the US and Japan and is the co-founder of Startup Co-Creation, a community dedicated to supporting globally-minded founders and startup-related stakeholders in and interested in Japan. Currently, she is leading the creation of a cross-border venture studio. She earned her BA in Economics from Stanford and her MPP from the University of Tokyo.
